The Arkport Board of Education has adopted the proposed 2021-22 school budget that district residents will have the opportunity to vote on via absentee ballots and in-person voting on Tuesday, May 18.
As proposed, the $11,969,646 spending plan calls for a 0.79% increase in spending over the current year and carries a tax levy increase of 1.9120% – below the district’s legal limit as defined by New York’s tax levy cap legislation.
The fiscal plan includes no program reductions, preserves the district’s current school resource officer position, creates a full-time social worker position, a full-time band teacher position and expands the district’s Response to Intervention (RTI) program.
Residents will also vote to purchase one wheelchair accessible school bus, lease two school buses and elect one member to the Board of Education.
Visit the budget section of the district’s website for information about the school budget vote, additional propositions, voter qualifications and absentee ballots.
