On Thursday night, Ibrahim delivered an impressive performance in the 5000m (3.1 miles), securing 20th place with a personal best of 15:07.43—an average pace of approximately 4:52 per mile. His outstanding time ranks him #26 nationally for indoor track, #2 in New York State, and sets a new Section V record.

Capping off his nationals performance on Sunday, Ibrahim ran a strong mile, finishing in 4:29.79.

Ibrahim Ford, a standout junior from Arkport, has earned a spot at the prestigious New Balance Indoor Track and Field Championship in Boston this March.

Ford’s performance at the Federation Championship during the cross-country season secured his qualification for nationals. His achievements this past fall include being named Steuben County Runner of the Year, winning the Section V Class D title, and finishing as the runner-up at the Class D State Championship.

He also placed 8th at the Federation Championship and was just three spots shy of qualifying for the Nike Team National Championships.

On the track, Ford has continued his dominance, holding the second-fastest times in Section V in both the 1600m and 3200m events. He has also set school records in the 1600m, 1000m, and 600m this season. Having met state provisional qualifying times, he now needs a top-three finish at the state qualifiers to punch his ticket to the state meet.
