Arkport voters approved the proposed 2024-25 school budget with 146 voting in support of the $14.5 million spending plan and 83 voting against. The budget calls for a tax levy increase of 2%.
This budget not only sustains but permanently establishes many of the offerings the district has introduced over the past few years using federal pandemic funds. This includes all after-school activities and programs.
In the Board of Education election, Patrick Flaitz was elected for his fourth term with 110 votes.
Voters also approved a proposition to purchase two 66-passenger diesel school buses. There were 168 yes votes and 58 no votes.
Terry Pullman and Marge Wagner were elected to the Library Board of Trustees and the library budget proposition passed with 169 yes votes and 58 no votes.
"Thank you to our voters for coming out and voicing their opinions,” said Superintendent Jesse Harper. “We appreciate your continued support and look forward to enhancing our students' experiences. Your trust in the district greatly advances our shared vision."
